Brown sugar icing.

This icing pairs well with a slice of hurry-up cake.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. cream or milk
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tbsp. butter, soft
  • icing sugar (to thicken)

Instructions

  1. In a small pot, add brown sugar and cream (or milk).
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat and boil for 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
  3. Remove from heat and gradually add icing sugar to thicken. Icing will thicken further when cool, so don't over-thicken.
  4. Stir in vanilla and butter and spread while soft.
