Mom’s brownies.

These brownies can be made (worse) with optional walnuts. Mom.

Oven temp 350°F Cook time 25-30 min

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 4 squares unsweetened baking chocolate
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • pinch of salt

  • 4 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1-1/2 cups flour, sifted
  • 1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 2 tbsp. boiling water
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

  • 1 cup walnuts, yuck

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9x9 baking pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt together butter, chocolate squares, sugar, and salt over medium heat and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, lightly beat eggs and mix in flour, dissolved baking soda, and vanilla.
  4. Add melted mixture to egg mix and blend until smooth.
  5. Stir in (gross) walnuts. Yuck.
  6. Pour batter into prepared baking pan.
  7. Bake in preheated oven at 350°F for 25-30 minutes.
